Ubofood application has been operating for 3 years, according to Mr. Do Hoang Thach – CEO of Ubofood Joint Stock Company, when initially opening an e-commerce platform, not many companies chose the business field as food like Ubofood with the scope of Serving only in 12 urban districts of Hanoi.
The sales operation of UboFood is as follows, through Mobile app and web channels, customers order before 8pm every day, Ubofood processes orders, delivers goods to transaction points (POS) or home delivery from 9am to 11am the next day. .
The first stage of the company’s operation was very difficult because people were afraid to download the app, and secondly, the consumer habit is more likely to go to traditional markets so they could choose products by themsevles.
Since the Covid 19 epidemic, people’s consumption habits have changed completely, many people have foundand downloaded the app by themselves. In addition, the company has actively run advertising campaigns on facebook, pages or propaganda through collaborators, so the total number of app downloaders has reached several tens of thousands.
As a result, in nearly a month of social distancing in Hanoi, the number of orders increased by 10-15 times, and the revenue increased by 10 times compared to the previous months.
To ensure the origin and quality, all products when put on the app are processed through the censorship stages of certification documents.
Goods before delivery are stored daily samples, preliminarily processed and packaged to meet standard conditions, transported by specialized vehicles and have a customer care department to collect feedbacks and solve the products related issues for customers.
To ensure the safety of delivery staff and customers, the company has strictly complied with epidemic prevention regulations.
The entire delivery team is the company’s delivery staff, vaccinated Covid – 19 vaccine and conducts a quick test once every 3 days. Many production units cannot actively deliver goods to the company, so the company solved that problem by increasing number trucks to get products directly from suppliers to avoid disruption of the supply chain.
Out of a total of more than 1,500 Ubofood products being distributed by 200 suppliers across 30 provinces, there are nearly 100 OCOP products (one product per commune program). In fact, these are inherently regional-specific products. In the past, although those products may have been of good quality, the packaging, labels, and documents didn’t meet the standard, so it was very difficult to promote the consumption.
But since the recognition of OCOP, the stages from packaging, labeling, and preperation of required documents have been standardized a lot, so it is quite convenient to put them on the e-commerce platform.
